IMDS Release 7.2 and related changes in IMDS-AI and IMDS-a2

Effective 23rd February 2012 there will be some changes in IMDS which are also reflected in IMDS-a2 and affect the IMDS Advanced Interface (AI). Additionally, the process for the renewal of existing IMDS-a2 licenses and the Terms and Conditions for IMDS-a2 Services will be changed.

Register no later than September 2nd, 2011 for any IMDS training offered by imds professional, the participant will receive a 50 % discount on a single user license for the first license year on HP's IMDS-a2.

Special Offer for IMDS-Users worldwide: Fly to Frankfurt and learn about IMDS

In June 2011 the full service provider imds professional is organizing various special IMDS training events in Germany for all those IMDS-users worldwide, who didn’t have the opportunity to participate in IMDS trainings in their own country.

Fly and learn: A free shuttle will pick the participants up at the Frankfurt International Airport and safely bring them to the training center.

IMDS Advanced Interface (IMDS-AI) enhancement will be rolled out to the
IMDS production system on 30th May 2011

Based on requests of HP‘s IMDS-AI customers, we implemented the option to download the new file type “published Standard MDSs” only containing the standard materials published by the companies „Stahl und Eisen Liste“, „IMDS-Committee“, „IMDS-Committee / ILI Metals“ and „ZVEI“. This file is created daily as Initial File (MPSAll) and Daily File (MPSDaily) and can be downloaded like all other public data by every IMDS-AI-Licensee. The structure of the file / the file description is identical to the MP File. As this file represents an additional service no change of the IMDS-AI is necessary.

Our IMDS training partner company imds professional, located in Weilrod/Germany, offers one-day training customized to the new guideline 019. The training conveys the essential amendments.

In order to further support an adequate implementation of the guideline, imds professional is planning to invite renowned OEM representatives from the IMDS Steering Committee who will discuss and answer the participants’ questions.

In August 2008 Hewlett-Packard acquired EDS. Per 01.11.2009 EDS Operations Services GmbH will be merged with Hewlett-Packard GmbH. Thus all EDS business, including IMDS, will be transferred to HP. Due to this transfer we will have some minor changes in IMDS in the coming weeks. The service of IMDS will stay uneffected and therefore have no impact on the current application and processes. Current IMDS customers have been informed about this via ordinary letter.
