For the SAP R/3 customer, EDS proposes three different possibilities to transfer their SAP material data into the central IMDS application:

• Customizing and programming the Business Connector and transfer the material data structure via the IMDS-AI
• Connection of the local bill of material system to the eCenter-icm2 and then communicating to the IMDS
• Using a csv-Import from the SAP bill of material into the IMDS-a2 Optimizer with direct connection and transfer to the IMDS via Internet

Simplified project steps of the SAP IMDS Interface implementation:

The first mentioned EDS solution addresses IMDS users who would like to automatically create IMDS datasheets from their bills of materials already available in SAP R/3. Because of the differences in the component structures in SAP and IMDS, we use a configured interface to map from SAP into IMDS. This solution package includes the installation and configuration of the SAP Business Connector as well as the add-on software "SAP IMDS Interface". The implementation project is based on time & material.
